Cole & Ian's Wedding Shower

My dear friend Cole is marrying Ian this coming April! Definitely a reason to celebrate! Cole & I lived together before Phil & I got married, she was in our wedding and I am in her’s! Our mom’s are life long friends as are we! We celebrated this past weekend at a garden/croquet couple's party! If you haven’t ever played croquet – I highly recommend it. It’s quite fun! Cooper joined the fun and did great! He slept pretty much the entire time with the exception of feeding and being put in the baby bjorn (not a fan). We had a great time getting out of the house, feeling normal, socializing with friends and best of all celebrating Cole & Ian!

see...not a fan quite yet -- a lil' too small

Cooper's nursery and a few close ups!

We're long overdue for posting pictures of lil' Cooper's nursery!!! And of course we had to throw in a few recent ones of Cooper's first few days at home!!!

The nursery - a HUGE thanks and appreciation for daddy Phil. He worked long and hard to make Cooper's nursery perfecto! The beadboard, paint job, letters and stars above the crib, and shelf above the changing table - all him! He's good huh!? We were finally able to get our hands on the simply fabulous curtains!!! AHHH!!!! With the exception of framing pictures of Cooper the nursery is finished. The rocker is my best friend in the middle of the night when nursing. If you have had a newborn you know how important it is to have a comfy chair. Enjoy picts!

First few days - we have an 11 day old! We are adjusting to lil' sleep and figuring out what works best each day. We've been on walks, had family nap time, like to stare at him and get a kick out of him making facial expressions and filling his diaper. Doesn't take much when you're in love with your lil' one :) ENJOY!

Family lovin' for lil' Cooper

A super special thanks to all our friends who have contacted us over the last few days and sent their best wishes for our new addition. I was just telling Cori tonight that I can't believe how perfectly God has answered all our prayers for little Cooper over the last 9 months or so.
We got to bring Cooper home Tuesday afternoon and all the family got to visit with him and share in a family dinner. We have received a few requests for more pictures of the little guy so we figured we would share some of Cooper and his favorite people.
Enjoy! Phil and Cori and Cooper (and Lucy).
Our family of 4! Lucy likes smelling Cooper - she's very curious.
leaving the hospital - headed HOME SWEET HOME!

A perfect 10 on 10/10/10!!!

"He's Here!!! He's Here!!!" they shouted from the mountain tops ... well not really mountain tops just a barage of texts, phone calls, and answered prayers. We are proud to introduce to you our son Cooper Reid Hankinson. Born 4:50am October 10th, 2010. He weighed 7 lb and 13 oz and was 20.5 inches long.
For those of you who are wondering if we planned on having his birthday be 10/10/10 due to Cori's supreme planner primal instinct ... the answer is no ... Cooper just lucked into having a pretty cool birthday. Mom and baby are doing great, but we are all a little drained after our all night dance party.
Thanks to all of you who prayed for our son ... we can happily say that our prayers and yours have been answered! Here are a few pics to look at (thanks to Carly for being our official photographer). I don't have to tell you that Cori will have many many more posted in the weeks to come.
Much love and thanks - Phil (and Cori and Cooper and Lucy ... can't forget Lucy)
The happy little family's first portrait together!
Cooper insisted on finger wrestling to determine who gets to lay on mommy's chest ... he won.

I can't imagine who put that hat on him ... but it does look pretty darn classy.

Neighborhood Couple's Shower

And last but not least.......pictures from our fabulous neighborhood couples shower!!! We were asked to wear turquoise, brown or white - not really knowing what to expect......we showed up and were welcomed by the hostess with a plaid tie for Phil along with plaid for me to wrap around my waist and a flower pin! We quickly noticed all the guys in white with plaid ties and the ladies with plaid on as well! SIMPLY FABULOUS!!!! A HUGE kudos to Rob (one of our neighbors) that outdid himself on the food. Prepare yourself for pictures of the amazing food selection along with the creative names he came up with. Everything about the shower was great! More great gifts, fabulous decor and details, and genuine friendships!
Dr. update - 1 cm and 90% effaced as of today. If he doesn't arrive sometime this weekend we're scheduled to be induced Monday morning!!! Either way we're meeting Mr. Cooper SOON!!!!! Will be sure to update with news and pictures asap!

the bump.....

A BIG thanks to my dear friend Cole for taking a few shots of our lil' family! Phil has done a great job taking shots along the way, but I definitely wanted a few of Phil and I together. She did a great job of taking shots I wanted and I was then able to crop and edit a few special ones. We even included Lucy in a few! ENJOY!

Tomorrow I will be 38 weeks!!!

Oh, and we had another absolutely fabulous shower this past Saturday. Will post pictures soon!
